Right-wing activist Charlie Kirk was killed, and police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the crime. Robinson is being held without bail in a special housing unit at the Utah County Jail. He faces charges of aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and committing a violent crime in the presence of children.

Authorities say Robinson was identified after friends on Discord noticed his resemblance to the suspect seen in video footage. Robinson allegedly joked about the similarity, calling the figure his “doppelganger” and claiming his look-alike was trying to “get me in trouble.”

A now-deleted YouTube video later retrieved by investigators shows Robinson laughing during a Minecraft livestream, contrasting with the confession prosecutors say he eventually gave about killing the Turning Point USA founder.

In one clip, Robinson teased friends after they misspelled his online handle “Craftin,” jokingly calling them “psychopaths” while celebrating progress in the game.

Court documents reveal Robinson left a message to his transgender roommate and romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, claiming he carried out the killing to “protect him.” This message became a key piece of evidence in the case.

Investigators also uncovered Robinson’s disturbing online activity. He used the username “craftin247” across gaming and adult platforms, where he engaged with furry-themed pornography and played the explicit game Furry Shades of Gay.

Former classmates recalled Robinson being labeled a “psychopath” in old gaming clips, noting his fixation on extreme online content. Authorities believe his escalating digital behavior, combined with toxic gaming circles, may have influenced his path to violence.

The case has intensified national debates about youth radicalization, the impact of extremist online communities, and ongoing discussions surrounding gender identity and social media moderation.
