His widow, Erika, delivered an emotional half-hour eulogy, recalling the moment she saw him after his death. “His eyes were semi-open and he had this knowing, Mona Lisa-like half-smile… like Jesus rescued him.” She added: “It revealed to me a great mercy from God in this tragedy.”
A Secret Revealed
Erika shared a tender memory, admitting she had kept one thing from him: “I saw the one, single grey hair on the side of his head, which I never told him about. Now he knows.”
Forgiveness and Faith
Assuming her husband’s role at Turning Point USA, Erika said she forgives the accused killer: “I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And what Charlie would do.”
